Submission Guidelines and Manuscript Preparation
The Annals of Proteomics and Bioinformatics (APB) welcomes original research, reviews, and communications from all fields of proteomics, genomics, bioinformatics, and computational biology. Authors must prepare their manuscripts following these Submission Guidelines to ensure efficient processing and compliance with ethical and technical standards.
1. Submission Requirements
- All manuscripts must be original and not published or under consideration elsewhere.
- Each submission must include a cover letter, title page, manuscript file, figures, and supplementary materials (if applicable).
- Submissions must comply with the journal’s Publication Ethics Policy.
2. Online Submission System (OJS)
Authors are required to register or log in to the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform to submit manuscripts. During submission, authors must:
- Provide complete author details (names, affiliations, emails, ORCID IDs).
- Upload the main document and supplementary files separately.
- Agree to ethical and copyright statements.
3. File Formats and Organization
Authors should ensure that files are submitted in editable formats for ease of review and production.
- Main manuscript: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
- Figures: JPEG, TIFF, or PNG (minimum 300 dpi)
- Tables: Editable within the Word file, not as images
- Supplementary materials: Excel, CSV, or ZIP formats (if applicable)
4. Manuscript Components
The manuscript must be structured into the following components:
- Title Page: Includes manuscript title, author names, affiliations, and corresponding author information.
- Abstract: Structured with Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion, up to 250 words.
- Keywords: 4–8 keywords relevant to the study.
- Main Text: Divided into Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion.
- References: Formatted in Vancouver style (NLM).
5. Word Limits
| Article Type | Word Count | References |
|---|---|---|
| Original Research | 4000–7000 | ≤ 50 |
| Review Article | 5000–9000 | ≤ 100 |
| Short Communication | 1500–3000 | ≤ 25 |
| Case Study | 2000–3500 | ≤ 30 |
6. Figures and Tables
- Each figure and table must have a legend and be cited sequentially.
- Figures must be uploaded as separate files during submission.
- Color figures are published free of charge.
7. Reference Formatting
Use the Vancouver referencing style. Citations should be numbered in the order they appear in the text.
1. Zhang X, Kumar P. Proteomic insights into drug resistance. Ann Proteom Bioinform. 2023;10(2):115–125.
8. Supplementary Materials
Authors are encouraged to include supplementary data such as extended tables, figures, or datasets. Each supplementary file should be clearly labeled (e.g., “Supplementary Figure S1”).
9. Ethical and Legal Compliance
Authors must confirm that all experiments comply with relevant ethical standards. Human or animal research must include ethics approval numbers and informed consent statements. Authors should also declare potential conflicts of interest and funding sources.
