Author Guidelines
Authors submitting manuscripts to the Annals of Proteomics and Bioinformatics (APB) are expected to adhere to the following comprehensive guidelines. These ensure uniformity, ethical integrity, and a smooth editorial workflow, in line with COPE, ICMJE, and WAME standards.
1. Manuscript Categories Accepted

2. Language and Formatting
- All submissions must be in clear, grammatically correct English.
- Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word format (DOC/DOCX).
- Text should be double-spaced with 1-inch margins and 12-point font (Times New Roman or Arial).
- All figures, tables, and references should be cited in sequence within the text.
3. Manuscript Structure
Articles must be organized as follows:
- Title Page – Title, authors, affiliations, corresponding author email, ORCID iDs.
- Abstract – ≤ 250 words, structured (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion).
- Keywords – 4-8 relevant terms separated by semicolons.
- Introduction – Concise rationale and objectives.
- Materials and Methods – Clear reproducible details of methodology.
- Results – Factual presentation with tables/figures.
- Discussion – Interpretation, limitations, and implications.
- Conclusion – Summary of findings and future directions.
- Acknowledgments – Funding or assistance acknowledgment.
- References – Follow Vancouver/NLM style.

4. Figures and Tables
- Figures should be high-resolution (≥ 300 dpi) in JPEG, PNG, or TIFF format.
- Tables should be editable, not embedded as images.
- Each figure and table must have a descriptive title and legend.
- Number sequentially (e.g., Figure 1, Table 1).
5. Reference Style
APB uses the Vancouver reference style. References are numbered consecutively in the order cited in the text and listed at the end.

6. Ethical Considerations
Authors must follow ethical research practices and obtain institutional approval for studies involving humans or animals. A statement of ethics approval and informed consent (where applicable) must be included in the Methods section.
The journal adheres to COPE guidelines for addressing misconduct, plagiarism, and data falsification.
7. Plagiarism and Originality
Manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening through reliable software before review. Similarity index must be below 15 %. Reused text must be quoted or cited appropriately.
8. Conflicts of Interest
All authors must disclose financial or personal relationships that could influence their research outcomes. A conflict-of-interest statement should appear at the end of the manuscript.
9. Data Availability and Reproducibility
Authors are encouraged to deposit datasets in open repositories such as Zenodo, ProteomeXchange, or Dryad, and include a “Data Availability Statement” in the manuscript.
10. Submission Process
Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal’s Online Submission System (OJS) at www.proteobiojournal.com/login. Authors will be prompted to create an account, fill metadata fields, and upload the manuscript and supplementary files.
- Only one corresponding author may be designated.
- Ensure all authors’ details are accurate before final submission.
- Revisions must be submitted through the same OJS dashboard.
11. Peer-Review Policy
APB uses a double-blind peer review system. Reviewers remain anonymous, and authors’ identities are concealed. Reviews focus on originality, methodology, clarity, and ethical standards. See Peer Review Policy for full details.
12. Proofs and Publication
- Proofs are sent to the corresponding author as PDF files before publication.
- Corrections must be returned within 48 hours.
- Major revisions at proof stage may delay publication.
13. Article Processing Charges (APC)
APC details are listed under the Article Processing Charges page. Invoices are issued only after acceptance.
14. Copyright and Licensing
All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Authors retain copyright while granting the publisher the right to distribute and archive their work.
15. Checklist Before Submission
- Manuscript prepared according to journal format.
- Title page includes complete author information and ORCID IDs.
- Figures and tables numbered and cited sequentially.
- References formatted in Vancouver style.
- Conflict-of-interest and funding statements provided.
